Conference Race Update: James Madison Will Bet The Sun Belt

Amid all the chaos and unpredictability in the conference title races, one thing is particular: James Madison will play in the Sun Belt championship video game.


The Dukes clinched a division title Saturday with a win over Appalachian State, plus Coastal Carolina's loss to Georgia Southern.


Elsewhere, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech pulled off important returns, and Virginia and San Diego State won essential games in their conference champion races.

Today: Virginia knocked off Duke to hand the Blue Devils their second league loss, and Georgia Tech hardly escaped against Boston College.


Standings: Georgia Tech (6-1), Virginia (6-1), SMU (5-1) and Pittsburgh (5-1) are in a four-way tie for first in the loss column.


Possible tiebreakers: There aren't any head-to-head matchups yet among those four teams. The next tiebreakers after that include records against typical opponents, and then winning portion of conference challengers.
